the Devil back to Hell“. Afterwards there was enough time for conversations
and reflections upon the impressive story of the Liberian women, especially
the one of Leymah Gbowee. |

... where she told an appreciative audience more about the true story of the illegal migrant „Maria“, who was the role model for her part in „Defenceless“ Although she personally never met „Maria“ , she was able to shed a light on her life-story. This information was gathered in conversations between the scriptwriter and Maria Moreno on her book „They took my freedom away - confessions of an illegal migrant“. The audience received the movie quite well and gave it an excellent rating in the questionnaires. That same evening we learned that it just had won the award as best TV-Movie of the year at Biberach Film Festival.. |

Helga Reidemeister Renowned documentary film-maker Helga Reidenmeister came to Tuebingen not only to show her touching movie „Love and War in Kabul“ and for the conversation with the audience. She also intended to ask for solidarity with both Afghan protagonists
of her movie, in support of whom she had started a campaign. Shaima,
forced into a marriage, and Hossein, a paraplegic, should be supported
so they could live together as a couple after achieving Shaima’s
divorce and rebuild their common future. Their intent to marry for love,
in their surroundings encounters a complete lack of understanding, obstacles
and potential dangers. Says Shaima: "Even if I had just one year
to live, I want to spend it with Hossein“. |

Gertraud Schwarz The maker of the documentary „Weiberleut“ at the packed Arsenal theater presented her film, which proved to be - for us urban people - a quite exotic insight into the survival struggle of female farmers in Austria. These women manage their farms without the help of males. The eye-winking perspective on these strong women impressed the audience
thoroughly. |
