Rise
of the flag
For the International Day “NO to violence against women” the
flag was raised at the regional council of Tuebingen – At this
occasion the President of the Regional Government Hermann Strampfer spoke…
… the First Mayor of Tuebingen Christine Arbogast
… and Irene Jung, festival director and representative of TERRE DES FEMMES.
The flag is flying!
The
documentary „Wo die freien Frauen wohnen“ about the matriarchal
Mosuo in China attracted a huge audience.
Dagmar
Margotsdotter-Fricke, Uschi Madeisky and Daniela Parr told about
their filming at the Lugu-lake.
The
women’s library Thalestris also was present.
After
the screening the conversations went on about matriarchal societies.
The
feature film “Monsoon Baby”, directed by Andreas
Kleinert,
deals with surrogate motherhood in India, representing thus several poor
countries, where this seems to be for women a questionable way out of a
life under precarious economic conditions. The director talks very openly about his own doubts, his long way to get informed about this shocking reality and to write a script, which confronts the audience with questions instead of answers…
He
also explains, how fascinating and attractive India was for him.
