Hanna Polak

Filmmaker and photographer Hanna Polak studied acting and theatre at the Acting School in Wro-claw and Warsaw, Poland, and worked as a stage performer in the Theatre of Entertainment, Chorzow. She graduated with a master’s degree from the Cinematography division of the Cinematography Institute of the Russian Federation (VGIK), in Moscow, where she studied under Vadim Yusov, DOP of Andrei Tarkovsky.

In 2003, Hanna was awarded Best Producer of Documentary Movies at the International Film Festival in Krakow. In 2004 Hanna completed her documentary film, The Children of Leningradsky, which was nominated for an Oscar.

Hanna has lectured on documentary filmmaking at many universities worldwide and was a jury member at IDFA, the Documentary Film Festival in Krakow and the Human Rights Film Festival in Glasgow and other film festivals. She was a tutor for the EsoDoc workshop and Academy of Documentary Arts and she wasan expert for the Pol-ish Ministry of Culture, evaluating documentary projects for the Polish Film Institute.

Hanna Polak will be present as director after the film ANGELS OF SINJAR.
