Lendita Zeqiraj, Kosovo/Kroatia/France/Albania, 2019, 107 min., feature film, OV with english subtitles
In the secluded mountain landscape of Kosovo is a lonesome house with a beautiful view. The summer sun is burning. Here, the 9-year-old Aga lives with his mother and four other women. What exactly has brought them together only becomes clear as time goes by. In the yard the women peel grilled peppers and tell stories, they laugh a lot, interrupt each other, sometimes friendly and sometimes with a certain degree of hardness. Then something unforeseen happens, which completely turns everyday life upside down and brings Aga closer to the secret of his origins.
Lendita Zeqiraj listens to the destinies, voices and longings of women who are otherwise rarely visible in this patriarchal society and shows that the war in Kosovo still has an impact today.
