What does it actually mean to be a woman? This is the question raised by the long-term film project WOMAN, in which women from 50 different countries talk about their experiences, fears and attitudes. Artistic elements, footage from different cultures and interviews with women occur alternately. Among other topics, the film deals with body images, motherhood, sexuality, love, education, but also genital mutilation and violence against women. The aim of the project is to draw attention to the injustices that women face on a daily basis and to celebrate the diversity of femininity. For this purpose, 2000 different women are shown, who give insights into life and their respective cultures and societies.
