Prof. Dr. Dr. Jan Ilhan Kizilhan

Prof. Dr. Dr. Jan Ilhan Kizilhan is Director of the Institute for Transcultural Health Research at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University and Dean of the Institute for Psychotherapy and Psychotraumatology at the University of Duhok in Northern Iraq. He is head of the transcultural psychosomatic department at the Klinik am Vogelsang, MEDIClIN in Donaueschingen. Kizilhan is a psychological psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, trauma therapist (DeGPT), lecturer, supervisor, trainer and expert for courts and international organizations. Among numerous awards for his work are the Razi Prize for his work in transcultural psychiatry and psychotherapy in Iran, the Geneva Summit for Women Rights 2016 for his work with war victims and the Ramer Award for Courage in the Defence of Democracy, 2017. In 2016 he was awarded the highest order of the state of Baden-Württemberg for his work on the rights of war victims, especially victims of sexual violence.
