Welcome to this year\u2019s \u201cFrauenWelten\u201d (Women\u2019s Worlds) film festival organized by TERRE DES FEMMES!<\/p>\n

From 28 October to 4 November, the festival will be putting women\u2019s human rights squarely in the spotlight, drawing attention to this issue and creating vital momentum for public debate.
\nNow in its 20th year, the festival\u2019s program, encompassing 31 films from 30 different countries, illustrates its global perspective. With a focus on gender equality in the workplace, violence against women, forced marriage, and child marriage, these films show the range and the gravity of the worldwide obstacles to full realization of women\u2019s human rights. At the same time, they tell stories of courageous action, solidarity, and the will to confront injustice and human rights violations.
\nAlong with its varied supporting program, the \u201cFrauenWelten\u201d film festival promises to be an eye-opening and powerful experience and a valuable opportunity for encounters and discussion. This festival makes it abundantly clear that working for equal rights and gender equality, as well as combating discrimination and violence, is an urgent task \u2013 both worldwide and right here at home.
\nI am delighted to be able to welcome the \u201cFrauenWelten\u201d film festival to Berlin for the first time in its anniversary year, after 19 years in T\u00fcbingen. The festival and our city are an excellent match: not only is Berlin a vibrant film capital, its active civil society also makes it an ideal place for public debate.
\nMy special thanks go to TERRE DES FEMMES and all those who made it possible to hold the festival this year, especially against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic and the corollary restrictions.
