ABORTION DREAM TEAM

Karolina Lucyna Domagalska, Poland, 2024, 82 min., documentary film, Polish with English subtitles

One in three women worldwide has an abortion in her lifetime. But in countries like Poland, the law does not side with women, but protects the fetus. Fortunately, there is the “Abortion Dream Team”: four women, a hotline, help around the clock. They provide information about safe self-abortions, refer women to clinics abroad, and say loudly: “Abortion is OK!” — a slogan that inspires and provokes at the same time. Hundreds of thousands find hope in their commitment, while conservatives and the government respond with repression. The price is high: one activist faces prison, another struggles with burnout. But their feminist solidarity leaves no one alone — it becomes life-saving. A moving document of courage, anger, and love in resistance to systemic violence.
