Susan Gluth (director)
Susan Gluth studied documentary filmmaking at the HFF Munich, where she made L’AMOUR CHEZ TATI in 1999, OSTWÄRTS in 2000, and NULLA SI SA, TUTTO S’IMMAGINA ... SECONDO FELLINI in 2003. Since then, she has been photographing and producing her own films: SHADOWS OF FATE and A REFUGEE CHILDHOOD in 2006, and WASSER UND SEIFE in 2008, which she distributed herself to cinemas in German-speaking countries. Susan also works as a freelance cinematographer for documentary films and has been to Mexico, Guyana, Brazil, China, Israel, Bhutan, Japan, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Kenya, Korea, Namibia, Seychelles, Senegal, Chad, the USA, and Europe. In 2014, PLAYING HOOKY - GETTING OLD IS NOT FOR SISSIES premiered at the Hof Film Festival and will be shown in German cinemas in 2016. Over the last five years, she has been working on the film “URMILA – für die Freiheit” (URMILA – for freedom) in Nepal, which will premiere at Hot Docs in Toronto in 2016.
