Panel Talk: Social Impact Filming

Fri, Oct. 31, 20:00 h / Following IMPURE / Free entry.

Social Impact Filming combines artistic storytelling with activism and social engagement. In this discussion, the filmmakers behind IMPURE and NAWI – DEAR FUTURE ME will talk about the connection between art and activism, moderated by Dafne-Maria Fiedler. Both films are set in Kenya and based on true stories that sharpen our view of social realities and help to raise public awareness.

The focus will be on the question of how films can have a lasting impact beyond the screen: What responsibility do filmmakers bear, what role do accompanying campaigns play—and what can films actually achieve?

Rico Herre, director, IMPURE
Naisula Lepariyo, social impact consultant, IMPURE
Tobias Schmutzler, director, NAWI – Dear Future Me
