In the book KILLING THE GOOD GIRL, eleven women give authentic accounts of their lives in illustrated stories. They come from Afghanistan, the US, the former GDR, Lebanon, Venezuela, India, England, China, Jordan and Iran and often grew up with a migration background. As different as their origins, their religion and their socialization are, their fates are frighteningly similar. Discrimination, honor killings, forced marriages, violence, oppression and abuse are the everyday life in which these women grew up. Autobiographically, they tell of their path to freedom. This path, whether it is called feminism, emancipation or the #MeToo movement, was taken by each of them alone.
