Marie-Lou Sellem is a Berlin-based German-French actress who, after completing her training at the Folkwang University of numerous renowned German speaking theaters. Since 1989 she has appeared in many cinema and TV productions and TV productions and has worked with directors such as Christoph Schlingensief, Werner Schroeter, Tom Tykwer, Angela Schanelec, Thomas Arslan, Franz Müller, Elizabeth Banks and Oscar winner Caroline Link. In 2021, she appeared in the Oscar nominated production TAR by Todd Field. For her work in KNOCHEN UND NAMEN by Fabian Stumm, she was awarded the 2023 German Acting Award in 2023 and nominated for the German Film Award 2024 nomination. DIE SCHULE DER FRAUEN is Marie-Lou Sellem’s directorial debut. In addition to acting & directing, she works as a photographer and is a non-medical practitioner for psychotherapy.
