Warm-up for the 25th Women’s Worlds Film Festival: Berlin premiere of GIRLS AND GODS and opening of the anniversary exhibition

One week before the official festival opening, the 25th Women’s Worlds Film Festival invites you to get in the mood on October 23 at 7:30 p.m.: To mark the official theatrical release, the festival, in cooperation with mindjazz pictures, presents the Berlin premiere of GIRLS AND GODS. FEMEN activist Inna Shevchenko talks in the film to priestesses, imams, rabbis, theologians, and activists, asking fundamental questions about the compatibility of women’s rights, traditions, and faith. The artfully staged film by Arash T. Riahi and Verena Soltiz questions existing hierarchies and examines faith from a feminist perspective.

Following the screening, Inna Shevchenko will be present in person for a discussion about the film, moderated by Ruth Moschner. The anniversary exhibition “25 Years of Filmfest FrauenWelten” will open at 6:00 p.m. Festival posters and photographic impressions from past years will be on display – an invitation to look back on a quarter-century of eventful festival history.

Ruth Moschner will host the evening.

Opening reception, Thursday, Oct. 23, 6:00 p.m.
