Arian Vazirdaftari is an Iranian screenwriter and director. His short films include “NOT YET” (2016), winner of the Grand Prix and the NETPAC Award at the Busan International Short Film Festival, and “LIKE A GOOD KID” (2018), which premiered in the Cinéfondation competition at Cannes. His feature film debut, “WITHOUT HER” (2022), premiered as part of “Orizzonti Extra” in Venice and was later screened in Toronto. He also co-wrote “WORLD WAR III” (2022), which won the Best Film Award in the “Orizzonti” section at Venice and was submitted as Iran’s entry for the Academy Awards. In 2021, he participated in the “Berlinale Talents” and “Script Station” programs. His second feature film, THE NIGHT AREZOU DISAPPEARED (2026), was produced independently and underground in Iran.
