Bayan Layla, born and raised in Syria, has performed at the Volksbühne Berlin in Iphigenie and with the collective Ma’loube in Days in the Sun and OVERDOSE: the Show of Pain and Joy at the Theater an der Ruhr and Ringlokschuppen Ruhr. In her third year of studies, she takes up her first engagement at the BADISCHEN STAATSTHEATER in Karlsruhe, where she works with directors Anna Bergmann, Milan Peschel and Marius Schötz, among others. The Kaiju Cinema Diffusion Prize winning film ELAHA at the Locarno Film Festival is her debut in front of the camera. Bayan Layla is a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation.
