Claudia Richarz

Claudia Richarz is an experimental and documentary filmmaker and mother of two sons. In 1978 she co-founded “bildwechsel,” a cultural and media center for women in Hamburg. At the end of the 1990s, she realized the documentary series ABNEHEMEN IN ESSEN together with Carl-Ludwig Rettinger for WDR/arte and was awarded the Grimme Prize for it. Her feature film VULVA 3.0 (together with Ulrike Zimmermann) celebrated its world premiere at the Berlinale in 2014. During her studies at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg, Helke Sander was one of her professors.
