Maria Binder studied sociology, psychology and politics at the Free University of Berlin and video art at the Berlin University of the Arts. Since 1995 she has been realizing her own film projects on the topics of racism, gender and human rights as a writer, director and producer. Since 2003 she has been volunteering for Amnesty International and the Turkish human and women’s rights movement. She lives in Berlin and Istanbul.
