Milena Aboyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. In 2010, she began a four-year acting training in Germany. During this time she took part in several theater productions. After her acting diploma, she changed subjects and began studying screenwriting and directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Her graduation film ELAHA was invited to the Perspektive Deutsches Kino at the 73rd Berlinale. She has received numerous awards for her work, which deals with socio-political and social issues. She lives and works in Hamburg.
