22nd Women's Worlds Film Festival 26.10-0.11.2022

From 26.10-02.11.2022, the 22nd Women’s Worlds Film Festival took place for the third time at the KulturBrauerei cinema in Berlin and online. Over 30 short, feature and documentary films from more than 20 countries on the global women’s rights situation were shown. Twenty experts, directors and actors were present for discussions after the films. A total of around 2,400 guests were present online and at the cinema in the Kulturbrauerei.

The main topics of the festival this year were:

• Violence against women as a weapon of war
• Women’s rights and religion
• Self-determination

A highlight of this year’s festival was the I AM HER VOICE exhibition, which accompanied the film festival throughout the entire period in the foyer of the cinema in the KulturBrauerei. The exhibition was realized in cooperation with BONO Direkthilfe e.V.. Another highlight was the staged reading of the book KILLING THE GOOD GIRL with the publisher Dr. Farsana Soleimankehl-Hanke. The city walks with Claudia von Gélieu from the women’s tours also provided exciting insights into women’s history in Prenzlauer Berg and in film.
