As the most successful social movement of the 20th century, the women’s movement has now reached all levels of society and achieved a number of things: better living conditions for women and lifestyles that were long unimaginable. How is it that feminism is controversial as rarely before and that power and dependency relationships continue to exist and disadvantage large parts of society? Katharina Mückstein’s documentary provides an answer to this question based on the variety of topics that are being negotiated under the term in 2023. Using music video sequences and aestheticized images, the documentary lustfully sketches new images of the body and gender.
