The everyday life of Laura from Finland, Rachel from the Netherlands and Rosalba from Italy was marked by domestic violence until they made a momentous decision: to kill their partner who beat and abused them. In front of the camera, they now reveal their story with remarkable courage and sincere openness. Director Coco Schrijber avoids sensationalism and places their stories in a larger context, as more than 30,000 women are murdered by their partners worldwide every year. This usually happens at home, which makes it the most dangerous place for the victims. In Germany, statistically every fourth woman is affected by domestic violence – no matter what social class or age group they belong to.
