Helke Sander

Helke Sander directed from 1962, first in Finland. After returning to her hometown of Berlin in 1965, she is in the first class of the German Film and Television Academy. From 1967 activities in the student movement, 1968 co-founder of the first women’s group of the new women’s movement and children’s stores in Berlin. With Claudia von Aleman she curates the first international women’s film festival in Berlin in 1973, 1974 founder and editor of the magazine “Frauen und Film”. For the short film “Nr. 1 – Aus Berichten der Wach- und Patrouillendienste” she receives a Golden Bear in 1985. Professorship at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts 1981-2001.
